Morocco Unveils Digital Morocco 2030 Strategy with $1.1 Billion Investment
Morocco has officially launched its ambitious “Digital Morocco 2030” strategy, backed by a budget of $1.1 billion. This initiative aims to position the country as a global digital hub through the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology. By 2030, the strategy is expected to generate 240,000 new jobs in the digital sector, elevate digital export revenues to 40 billion dirhams (approximately $4.15 billion), and increase the overall contribution of the digital economy to 100 billion dirhams (around $10.36 billion).
The Moroccan government plans to leverage blockchain technology to create a unified administrative service portal that will streamline services in areas such as healthcare, education, and social security. Additionally, AI systems will be deployed to analyze and process data in real-time, significantly improving service quality.
Key components of the strategy also include expanding 5G coverage to 70% of the country’s land area, fostering the establishment of 3,000 startups, and attracting leading global AI and blockchain companies to operate in Morocco. This comprehensive approach aims to enhance the nation’s growing tech ecosystem and stimulate economic growth through digital innovation.
