Digital Asset Raises Funding Total to $365 Million With Shinhan and SC Ventures

Digital Asset has increased its latest funding round to $365 million with new investments from Shinhan Financial Group and Standard Chartered’s SC Ventures.

The additional $10 million brings the total raised at a $2 billion valuation. The round was previously led by Andreessen Horowitz’s crypto fund and included participation from institutions such as ABN Amro, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Apollo Funds, BNP Paribas, Citadel Securities, CME Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, Hanwha, HSBC, S&P Global and SBI Group.

The capital will support expansion of the Canton blockchain network, designed for regulated financial institutions. The platform enables on-chain movement of assets and workflows while maintaining privacy, compliance and control.

Shinhan Financial Group, South Korea’s largest banking group, is expected to contribute expertise in Asian institutional adoption. SC Ventures brings experience in digital assets and fintech, along with opportunities for international collaboration.

Digital Asset chief executive Yuval Rooz stated that blockchain adoption in financial markets requires infrastructure that supports production-scale operations. The new investors enhance geographic reach and ecosystem connectivity.

The funding follows partnerships with Shinhan affiliates for tokenized asset studies, a Bithumb listing for Canton Coin and Grayscale’s filing for a spot Canton Coin exchange-traded fund.
