Bitget Confirms Lack of Singapore Regulatory License and Restricted Access

Crypto exchange Bitget has stated that it holds no license, approval, registration or authorization from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and does not target users in the country.

The exchange reiterated that Singapore remains a restricted jurisdiction under its terms of use. It does not offer or solicit services to residents there, and its platforms are inaccessible from the location.

The Monetary Authority of Singapore includes Bitget on its Investor Alert List, which highlights entities that members of the public might mistakenly believe are regulated. Inclusion on the list serves as a consumer information tool.

Bitget chief executive Gracy Chen said the company remains committed to complying with local requirements in markets where it operates as it expands globally. The exchange has applied for authorization under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation in Austria, though the outcome remains pending.

Singapore has implemented strict licensing for digital asset service providers, effective from June 30, 2025. The framework addresses cross-border risks and limits approvals in certain cases. Bitget’s clarification aligns with its approach of operating under jurisdiction-specific rules.
